      How do your treatments work?

Saxenda (Liraglutide), Mounjaro (Tirzepatide), and Wegovy (Semaglutide) are prescription injectable medications designed to aid weight loss through different but complementary mechanisms.

Saxenda and Wegovy help control appetite by making you feel fuller for longer periods. Mounjaro goes a step further by also reducing cravings, which can make maintaining a healthy diet easier. Each treatment is paired with expert guidance to support you throughout your weight loss journey.

Are your weight loss treatrments safe?

All the weight loss medications we prescribe—Saxenda (Liraglutide), Mounjaro (Tirzepatide), and Wegovy (Semaglutide)—are generally safe when used as directed by a healthcare professional. Like all medications, they may cause side effects, but these are typically mild and temporary. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, and digestive changes, which usually improve as your body adjusts.

Our pharmacists closely monitor your treatment to ensure your safety and provide guidance to manage any side effects. Your wellbeing is our priority throughout your weight loss journey.

What are the potential side effects of treatments?

The most common side effects of Saxenda and Ozempic are nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. The most common side effect of orlistat is oily stools.

Can I get weight loss treatment on the NHS?

To be eligible for NHS weight loss treatment, you generally need a BMI of 40 or above. For people from South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African, or African-Caribbean backgrounds, the threshold is lower - a BMI of 37.5 or more - if you also have at least four of the following weight-related health conditions:

          • Type 2 diabetes
          • High blood pressure (hypertension)
          • High cholesterol or abnormal blood fat levels (dyslipidaemia)
          • Obstructive sleep apnoea
          • Established cardiovascular disease (heart disease)

You can check your BMI using our BMI calculator, or pop in and we’ll help you work it out.

How often do I need to receive treatment?

Saxenda and Wegovy are typically administered as once-weekly injections.

Mounjaro is given as a weekly injection as well.

Your pharmacist will guide you on the best dosing schedule and monitor your progress to ensure the treatment is working effectively for you.

Can weight loss methods be combined?

Yes, you can safely use weight loss medications alongside lifestyle changes like improved diet and increased physical activity. Combining these methods often leads to better, longer-lasting results.

How long does it take to see results?

It takes about 4-6 weeks to see results from weight loss treatments. However, the amount of weight you lose will vary depending on the treatment you are using and your individual circumstances.

Are your treatments suitable for everyone?

Weight loss medications may not be appropriate for everyone. If you have existing health issues or concerns, it’s important to consult your doctor before beginning any weight loss treatment.

How much do weight loss treatments cost?

We do not charge for private consulations with the pharmacist, you only pay for treatment. The cost of weight loss treatments varies depending on the treatment you are using; our pharmacist can provide details during the consultation.

If you qualify for NHS treatment (initiated by your GP) you may be exempt from  NHS prescription charges.

Criteria for NHS treatment includes a BMI of 40+ (or 37.5+ for people from South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African or African-Caribbean ethnic backgrounds and have at least four of the following weight-related problems:

          • Type 2 diabetes.

Is there evidence that your treatments work?

Yes, there is strong scientific evidence supporting the effectiveness of our weight loss treatments. Clinical trials have shown that Saxenda, Mounjaro, and Wegovy can help people lose an average of 5-10% of their body weight when combined with lifestyle changes. These medications have been proven to support sustainable weight loss and improve overall health.

      Are all appointments in person?

Yes, most appointments are conducted in person to ensure you receive the best care and support. However, we also offer remote check-ins via phone or WhatsApp for your convenience. Monthly reviews are always held face-to-face to provide thorough monitoring and personalised guidance.

      Do I qualify for treatment?

Your BMI is one of several factors we assess to determine if weight loss treatment is suitable for you. Generally, a BMI of 30 or above - or 26+ with related health symptoms - may make you eligible for our service.

Use our BMI calculator to check your score, or simply pop in and we’ll help you figure it out.
